This summer is all about making drinks that are packed with flavour, super refreshing and not sweet at all.
Here are my top 3.
3. Tequila, soda and lime
I love tequila. Simplicity rules here, so this drink is just tequila on the rocks, topped up with soda and a slice of lime.
2. Otto's Vermouth, tonic, lemon
I believe Otto's Athens Vermouth is one of the best vermouths in the world. King Otto first brought vermouth to Athens in the 1850s. The Clumsies, one of the top cocktail bars in the world, re-created the original recipe, and now you can get Otto’s Vermouth here in Australia to make your own, which is awesome.
Otto’s over ice, top it up with tonic and a little squeeze of lemon. It is super refreshing, super delicious.
1. Ouzo, cucumber, ginger, tonic
This is a tough one, because ouzo is one of those spirits that people are a bit afraid of, but this drink will make you LOVE ouzo. Tall glass, lots of ice, 30mls of ouzo, throw a big slice of cucumber in there, top it up with tonic and a couple of slices of ginger. It is SO delicious and again so refreshing.
This is the type of drink that you want to have before lunch, just to get you into the swing of things. Trust me, ouzo is going to be the number ONE drink of summer.
